Suite Love Express has been playing together for four years, and has numerous available references for weddings, corporate parties, and private gatherings. The band is happy to provide references from venues around Northern California, as well as clients.
My party is going to have guests of all ages. Will Suite Love Express play songs that will reach all of them?
If you check out the band’s song list, you will see there is everything from good times 60s tunes (Elvis, Roy Orbison, Van Morrison), to the delight of the 70s (Rolling Stones, Abba, Led Zeppelin), to the lacy gloves and Adidas of the 80s (Madonna, Young MC, AC/DC), to today’s hits (Black Eyed Peas, Weezer, Kelly Clarkson), and back to the classics (Etta James, Frank Sinatra). With each style of music, the band sounds like the original. Check out the song list and request your favorite songs. The musicianship in this band is such that requests rarely stump them; most recently they were requested songs not yet on their playlist (Avril Lavigne and the Isley Brothers) at a party and Suite Love Express performed them to wild applause. Hearing is believing though – if the video doesn’t show you how much they sound like the originals, then seeing them live will definitely convince you.
How many breaks does Suite Love Express take during the night, and how long do they play?
For weddings and formal events, a typical reception lasts around five hours – cocktail hour, dinner hour, and three hours of dancing. Suite Love Express can play for up-to four hours, and most often is hired for the dance reception. During this dance reception, the band will play minimum 50 minute to 1 hour sets, with 15 minute breaks in between. The band typically breaks around toasts, announcements, and cake-cutting (if scheduled), to maximize the party. During breaks, similar music is played from the sound system to keep the party going. During cocktails/dinner, a mellow set of music will be played from their sound system. If you prefer ‘live’ music during the cocktail hour, please share this information up front with the band leader.
Does Suite Love Express play requests? Are they able to learn songs for our event?
Ah yes, Suite Love Express is the live jukebox for real – let the requests begin! The band is also happy to learn songs for your event given at least four weeks notice, as discussed with the band leader.
What does Suite Love Express require from a venue?
Suite Love Express requires the following:
* 16'x20' is preferred for performance space. (If less space is available, please indicate to band leader the total area to see if they can accommodate.)
* Outlets within 10 feet of performance area
* 3 chairs; bottled water Bottled water ensures no drinks spill on stage.
* Timeline for event
* Dressing room or break room area (Preferred)
* Designation of meals, whether a vendor meal is provided or if they will need to accommodate themselves.
